Dangerous Temptation by Giana DarlingMy rating: 4 of 5 stars
Dangerous Temptation picks up right where Bad Dream ended. Bianca and Brando’s former life has been packed up and they’ve been swept off to Lion Court in Bishop’s Landing.
Bishop’s Landing is home to New York’s wealthy elite, chiefly the Constantine and Morelli families. Their long and storied rivalry has a history of collecting innocents in their never ending attempt to exact revenge.
As the bastard children of Lane Constantine, Bianca and Brando have unwittingly found themselves at the epicenter of another attempt to mar the public image of Caroline Constantine, the family matriarch. Having been hidden away in small town Texas for their own protection, the death of Aida thrust them into the Lion’s Den and Tiernan’s plot to, at long last, redeem himself in the eyes of his family.
Despite his cruel demeanor, we immediately see glimpses of the past that created the monster. A black sheep of the Morelli family, once upon a time, Tiernan had everything he loved ripped from his grasp turning him into the cold man he became.
A study in contradictions, Tiernan has a soft spot for Brando, however. His diametric behavior toward her beloved brother, combined with crumbs of history, slowly erodes the wall Bianca has built around her heart where her guardian is concerned.
Bianca’s naïveté and old soul mannerisms are uncharacteristic in Tiernan’s world making her fascinating to him and endearing her to him despite his attempts to distance himself.
Her formal introduction to New York society will take place at the Lane Constantine Memorial Ball. On the steps of The Met, Tiernan has an epiphany, but believes himself too entangled to change course. Once inside, and in the face of the Morelli monster himself, secrets are revealed and there’s no turning back… {To Be Continued}
