Malice is a dark mafia romance with a diverse and interesting cast of characters.
While working at Dick’s Diner, Juliet unwittingly befriended the Kansas City mafia boss’ little sister, Vicky. As Malice is in the midst of an internal investigation to find a rat within the organization, when he discovers the unauthorized relationship, Juliet is caught in the crossfire.
"Does that even matter? If you want to live, I’m your family. I’m your law. I’m your everything."
As she navigates this foreign world, she becomes submerged in the family’s business and in Malice’s life as well as that of his two brothers, William and Anthony. As feelings grow, tempers flare, moves are made, lines are drawn.
This newfound place among the Civella family doesn’t sit well with Vicky, creating animosity between them. This division went sideways a little quicker than I would have preferred. Having some additional on-page interaction chronicling the build-up would have made the ensuing events a bit more realistic.
Overall, I loved it. All of it! Beyond the nonstop action, hot-as-hell scenes, and well-paced character growth, there are a number of perfectly peppered laugh-out-loud moments! Malice has so many elements I crave wrapped up in one deliciously dark story.
