Review: Runaway

Runaway Runaway by Ivy Smoak
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Such an apt title. Brooklyn is notorious for running away from her problems both metaphorically and physically.

Still running, Empire High series book 5 brings us to Brooklyn recounting the days following her “death.”

Over time, Brooklyn finds happiness, but can never completely move on. Forever looking for the ghosts over her shoulder and fighting the demons of her past, she knows deep down they’re not gone, just in hiding.

Honestly, I’m not sure how to write this review without giving too much away. There were still some moments when I wanted to strangle Brooklyn, but I was so pleased with her growth and maturation. Even though I’m still ruminating with my feelings, all said, this was my favorite of the series.
