Review: King of Spades

King of Spades King of Spades by Alta Hensley
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

In a jam, trying to pay off debts incurred by her stepfather, Lyriope Bailey takes a loan from the Sidorovs, a dangerous Russian mafia family. When she can’t pay, there’s a bounty on her head.

Restless, she finds herself at Wonderland, Nick Hudson’s playground. However, she comes face-to-face with the reality of her precarious situation as the family’s bastard black sheep.

I enjoyed the push and pull between Nick and Lyriope. Her stubborn streak making her well matched for the obsessed protector.
